| Description | Certainly rare. People sometimes call this the puzzle in the light blue box. Looks a bit like it. This is 1 of 2 puzzles released by Express Gifts (other is 'Friday 13th'). The box is really quite different from all kinds of other puzzle boxes. There is almost nothing on the box. The number is, but not who drew the puzzle nor who the maker of the puzzle is (ie Express Gifts). Express Gifts no longer exists, sometime in 2007 I found something that they were based in Preston, England. Today they are called 'Ace Gifts & Cards & Studio', with a website https://www.ace.co.uk/. They still sell puzzles on that website. But also all sorts of other things. It is a mail order company (gift catalog). The other puzzle that has also been published with a drawing by Jan van Haasteren is 'Friday the 13th' (number 198358). Both have no Dutch title on this puzzle. Both puzzles have been published under Dutch title and published by Jumbo. I think Express Gifts release of 'Friday 13th' is rarer than Neighbours. |

| Description | This is a rare puzzle that many people don't know is rare. I was able to buy it through Marktplaats. Hardly available in the Netherlands. And then you quickly end up on foreign marketplaces where you quickly pay 20 euros in import costs and / or import duties. the special thing is that there is a whole mini Wasgij puzzle in the box. a Wasgij Mini puzzle of 54 pieces - Weed Fighting from the Wasgij Original series. Furthermore, several puzzles of the puzzle 'De Buren' have been published that are also very rare, such as the edition by Express Gifts and the edition by Ceaco. |

| Description | This is a rare puzzle and that is because this is a publication by the American puzzle manufacturer Ceaco. Within Ceaco you have various puzzle series and this is the edition that falls within the 'Crowd Pleasers' series. Within the 1000 piece puzzles, the Crowd Pleasers Ceaco's series has a unique numbering system, running from 3342-01 to 3342-24. That's 24 puzzles. There's also a set of three puzzles within the "Crowd Pleasers" series, numbered from 3337-01 to 3337-03. That's three puzzles. A total of 27 1000-piece puzzles are included in this Crowd Pleasers series. For die-hard puzzle collectors, the challenge is to acquire this entire series. This drawing isn't unique, of course, as "The Neighbors" has also appeared in other puzzles with different piece counts. But Ceaco makes this puzzle unique, rarer, and therefore more expensive. This puzzle belongs to the Crowd Pleasers series. to the set with the Crowd Pleasers numbers 3342-10 through 3342-12. |

| Description | This puzzle is part of a set of four puzzles published by the New Zealand puzzle manufacturer Holdson Funny World (HFW)This puzzle is numbered 08201, as are three other puzzles in this set. For more information about this entire set, please visit the "Holdson's Funny World puzzles 08201This puzzle is rare because all of them were released in New Zealand. It's also more of a collector's item, as all the plates/drawings from these puzzles were also released in a Jumbo version in the Netherlands. There's a set of older puzzles published by Holdson Funny World—and these boxes all look different from the current, recognizable blue Jumbo puzzle boxes. Many of these boxes have multiple bright colors. A total of 48 of these older puzzles were published by Holdson Funny World (HFW), and these are therefore the rarer ones. You hardly ever see these puzzles on marketplaces like Marktplaats. You really have to look on second-hand puzzle trading platforms near New Zealand and Australia. The downside: if you want to buy one, you have to pay a lot of import duties, and the puzzle often takes a long time to arrive. To this day, Jan van Haasteren puzzles are still published in the familiar blue puzzle box. These puzzles in the familiar blue boxes are NOT rare; you can easily order them from an online store in New Zealand. This puzzle, "Neighbours," numbered 08201, is rare. However, the illustration isn't, as "Neighbours" was also released by other brands, such as Jumbo. Its release by HFW makes it rare and often a collector's item. It comes in a beautiful, colorful box with these four colors on the four sides: blue, green, red, and pink. The back of the box shows which four puzzles belong to the "set" numbered 08201. |

Laying the Puzzle
I made the puzzle on a Ergonomic PuzzlUp Puzzle Board, which is why the puzzle photos look a bit bent. Here's how I laid out the puzzle pieces on this puzzle board - I don't like it when I can't put all the pieces on a puzzle board or puzzle mat or puzzle folder:

I always start by laying the edges, and this time I was able to find all the edge pieces as well:

You see that I start with the colors that belong together, I look for all the pieces. We had a good look in advance at what all the neighbors' houses looked like, they were very similar, but with some different colors of frames:

The gardens of all neighbors were the most difficult, you can still find those houses together by color:

And even more difficult were the trees, because there were two of them:

and I finished the puzzle:

How long will it take you to complete this 1000 piece puzzle?
I made the puzzle 'De Buren' in peace and it also took several days. For the first time on one PuzzlUp puzzle board made on the floor in the living room. I do take the time, but not very precisely, it remains a hobby that puzzling! But to give you an idea how long it took me to complete this JvH puzzle of 1000 pieces:
- Explaining the pieces: 20 minutes
- Laying the edges = 25 minutes
- Laying the rest of the pieces = 3 hours and 35 minutes
- Which made me do this puzzle in total = 4 hours and 20 minutes. However – my 17-year-old daughter secretly also put pieces in between, so I don't know how much time I should have counted on it. It used to take me almost always 8 hours, but I have a special tip to be able to puzzle a lot faster
About Jumbo puzzles

Jumbo (not to be confused with our supermarket Jumbo!) makes toys, games and puzzles. Jumbo, for example, has made the very well-known games such as “Human don't get annoyed” and “Stratego” and “PimPamPet”. Games that have been around for generations and are still widely played by both young and old. Jumbo has been making and developing toys since about 1900. In the early years of the company, only toys from other countries were imported to the Netherlands. However, since about 1930 it was decided to also make their own toys, at the time manufacturing wooden toys, which was very popular at the time. Almost all toys in those years were made of wood. An important spearhead was that the toys made by Jumbo had to be of very good quality; it had to be as strong as an Elephant. An elephant had to stand on it! The red elephant has been the hallmark of Jumbo's games and puzzles for years. The name Jumbo and the red elephant together form the logo from about 1935. The Jumbo elephant is drawn by Mr. Möhr. He worked at an advertising agency and regularly signed for Hausemann & Hötte. Mr Möhr was at one point commissioned to design a beautiful new elephant logo for the Hausemann & Hötte toys. The logo has changed a bit since then. For example, the eye has grown over the years and has dropped slightly more, resulting in a friendlier elephant.
In the past, the elephant was not only used in the color red, but in all kinds of colors such as blue, yellow, black, white and green. All those colors were cozy and playful. For example, one time there was a yellow elephant on the box and the other time a red one. It was usually looked at which color best matched the color of the box. It was not until the end of the 60s that the red elephant was definitively chosen. Red is a color that stands out and attracts attention.
From 1945 Jumbo also started to focus on games made of cardboard. Jumbo has therefore been a guarantee for strong quality for years! Jumbo is a unique Dutch company with a rich history, with its head office in Zaandam. About 130 employees work for Jumbo. With a turnover of €75 million, Jumbo is a medium-sized European player in toys. Jumbo has sales offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. They export to more than 25 countries around the world.
In 1980 Jumbo starts the production of Jan van Haasteren Puzzles.

Well, this time only a short 'Like' as the title for the Review. I don't know exactly, he wasn't very special, but also quite ok. Nice fragment and recognizable of neighbors who bother each other more or less. I can't say more about it
