| Description | This is a rare puzzle and that is because this is a publication by the American puzzle manufacturer Ceaco. Within Ceaco you have various puzzle series and this is the edition that falls within the 'Crowd Pleasers' series. Within the 1000 piece puzzles, the Crowd Pleasers Ceaco's series has a unique numbering system, running from 3342-01 to 3342-24. That's 24 puzzles. There's also a set of three puzzles within the "Crowd Pleasers" series, numbered from 3337-01 to 3337-03. That's three puzzles. A total of 27 1000-piece puzzles are included in this Crowd Pleasers series. For die-hard puzzle collectors, the challenge is to acquire this entire series. This drawing isn't unique, of course, as "Tour de France" has also appeared in other puzzles with different piece counts. But Ceaco makes this puzzle unique, rarer, and therefore more expensive. This puzzle belongs to the Crowd Pleasers series. to the set with the Crowd Pleasers numbers 3342-04 through 3342-06. |

| Description | This puzzle is part of a set of four puzzles published by the New Zealand puzzle manufacturer Holdson Funny World (HFW)This puzzle is numbered 08745, as are three other puzzles in this set. For more information about this entire set, please visit the "Holdson Funny World puzzles 08745This puzzle is rare because all of them were released in New Zealand. It's also more of a collector's item, as all the plates/drawings from these puzzles were also released in a Jumbo version in the Netherlands. There's a set of older puzzles published by Holdson Funny World—and these boxes all look different from the current, recognizable blue Jumbo puzzle boxes. Many of these boxes have multiple bright colors. A total of 48 of these older puzzles were published by Holdson Funny World (HFW), and these are therefore the rarer ones. You hardly ever see these puzzles on marketplaces like Marktplaats. You really have to look on second-hand puzzle trading platforms near New Zealand and Australia. The downside: if you want to buy one, you have to pay a lot of import duties, and the puzzle often takes a long time to arrive. To this day, Jan van Haasteren puzzles are still published in the familiar blue puzzle box. These puzzles in the familiar blue boxes are NOT rare; you can easily order them from an online store in New Zealand. This puzzle, "Tour de France," number 08745, is rare. However, the design isn't, as "Tour de France" was also released by other brands, such as Jumbo and Ceaco. Its release by HFW makes it rare and often an instant collector's item. It comes in a beautiful, colorful box with these four colors on the four sides: blue, green, red, and pink. The back of the box shows which four puzzles belong to the "set" number 08745. |

Unboxing video of this puzzle
I made an unboxing video or an intro video of this special anniversary puzzle:
Laying this puzzle
I always do all the puzzles on a puzzle mat, and as you can see, I sort out the straight edges:

How long will it take you to complete this 1000 piece puzzle?
I completed the 'Tour de France' puzzle in peace and quiet and it took me several days to complete it. Beautifully made on a puzzle mat on the floor in the living room. I do record the time, but not very precisely, puzzling remains a hobby! The sky in particular was difficult to figure out in this puzzle. But to give an idea of how long it took me to complete this JvH puzzle of 1000 pieces:
- Explaining the pieces: 20 minutes
- Laying the edges = 25 minutes
- Laying the rest of the pieces = 5 hours and 5 minutes
- Which made me do this puzzle in total = 5 hours and 40 minutes. It used to take me almost always 8 hours, but I have a special tip to be able to puzzle a lot faster

About Jumbo puzzles

Jumbo (not to be confused with our supermarket Jumbo!) makes toys, games and puzzles. Jumbo, for example, has made the very well-known games such as “Human don't get annoyed” and “Stratego” and “PimPamPet”. Games that have been around for generations and are still widely played by both young and old. Jumbo has been making and developing toys since about 1900. In the early years of the company, only toys from other countries were imported to the Netherlands. However, since about 1930 it was decided to also make their own toys, at the time manufacturing wooden toys, which was very popular at the time. Almost all toys in those years were made of wood. An important spearhead was that the toys made by Jumbo had to be of very good quality; it had to be as strong as an Elephant. An elephant had to stand on it! The red elephant has been the hallmark of Jumbo's games and puzzles for years. The name Jumbo and the red elephant together form the logo from about 1935. The Jumbo elephant is drawn by Mr. Möhr. He worked at an advertising agency and regularly signed for Hausemann & Hötte. Mr Möhr was at one point commissioned to design a beautiful new elephant logo for the Hausemann & Hötte toys. The logo has changed a bit since then. For example, the eye has grown over the years and has dropped slightly more, resulting in a friendlier elephant.
In the past, the elephant was not only used in the color red, but in all kinds of colors such as blue, yellow, black, white and green. All those colors were cozy and playful. For example, one time there was a yellow elephant on the box and the other time a red one. It was usually looked at which color best matched the color of the box. It was not until the end of the 60s that the red elephant was definitively chosen. Red is a color that stands out and attracts attention.
From 1945 Jumbo also started to focus on games made of cardboard. Jumbo has therefore been a guarantee for strong quality for years! Jumbo is a unique Dutch company with a rich history, with its head office in Zaandam. About 130 employees work for Jumbo. With a turnover of €75 million, Jumbo is a medium-sized European player in toys. Jumbo has sales offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom. They export to more than 25 countries around the world.
In 1980 Jumbo starts the production of Jan van Haasteren Puzzles.
