Description

De Holdson Funny World – Whacky Water World! is a special and relatively rare puzzle from the New Zealand puzzle manufacturer Holdson. This edition was published in 2015 and is particularly popular among collectors, because it is offered only sporadically outside Australia and New Zealand.

A set of four puzzles, anniversary edition

This puzzle is part of a unique series of four Funny World puzzles that all feature the number 09662 to wear.

The image was designed by Jan van Haasteren, whose humorous and busy drawing style is known worldwide among puzzle enthusiasts. Although the image is also known from other editions, such as a Jumbo version, the Holdson edition has its own collector's value due to its limited availability.

Hard to obtain

For collectors in Europe, this puzzle is often difficult to obtain. Copies usually have to be imported from New Zealand or Australia, meaning shipping costs, import duties, and longer delivery times often play a role. Precisely because of this, this edition is not often offered on the second-hand market in the Netherlands.

Part of the blue Holdson Funny World series

The puzzle belongs to the well-known blue boxes of the Holdson Funny World series. Between 2014 and 2026, a total of 40 puzzles. In all years, four new puzzles were released; however, only in the years 2019 and 2025 was no set of four puzzles (of 1000 pieces) released.
