| Description | Jan van Haasteren – Undersea Fun (1500 pieces)Whoever thinks it is calm underwater has this beautiful Jan van Haasteren- haven't seen the puzzle yet. Undersea Fun is a humorous underwater world in which something is truly happening on every square centimeter. The original drawing was in 2011 made and appeared in 2017 as an exclusive Ceaco edition of 1500 piecesThis American edition is popular among collectors because there are only five different Jan van Haasteren 1500-piece puzzles released by Ceaco. That makes Undersea Fun a special edition for collectors of Jan van Haasteren puzzles. An underwater world full of humorAt the bottom of the sea, it is sheer chaos. Divers move around in the strangest vehicles, an old Volkswagen Beetle has been lying on the seabed for years, and bizarre fish swim around everywhere. Some fish are shaped like birds, others even resemble cigars. Amidst sunken treasures, wrecks, and colorful corals, dozens of little stories unfold that you discover again and again while solving the puzzles. As you have come to expect from Jan van Haasteren, the familiar recurring elements are not missing. You can look for the shark fin, the saw, the ghost, the super-snail, the crook, the police, the mother-in-law, the cat and the mouse, the squid, and of course Jan van Haasteren himself, among others. Just finding all these fixed elements makes this puzzle a joy to put together. The extraordinary story of JaneThis puzzle is extra special because Jane appears in it. Jane is, in fact, one of the rarest recurring characters in the world of Jan van Haasteren. While the shark fin or Sinterklaas can be found in almost every puzzle, Jane appears in only about fifteen puzzlesAs a result, she is one of the most enjoyable constants for many collectors to look for. You only recognize a real Jane when her name 'Jane' clearly appears on her clothing or T-shirt. In Undersea Fun Fortunately, that is the case. In this puzzle, she is even part of the welcoming committee and has brought a flower. That makes her appearance extra nice and special. Are you curious about exactly who Jane is, why she appears so rarely, and in which other Jan van Haasteren puzzles she can be found? Then read the full story on my website: Read all about Jane as a recurring element here. Sinterklaas's sunken boatAnother funny story in this puzzle revolves around Sinterklaas's boat. The boat has ended up at the bottom of the sea, leaving the presents scattered everywhere. Sinterklaas's staff has also disappeared, and even his horse is still stuck in the wreckage. Meanwhile, a fake Sinterklaas is walking around, being cheerfully welcomed by a complete welcoming committee. As is often the case with Jan van Haasteren, the artist lets the viewer figure out exactly what happened. Keep watching and discover more and more.Small scenes unfold throughout the image. A tour boat sails through the fish, a swordfish attempts to saw the boat in half, a knight has lain on the seabed for centuries, treasure hunters search for valuables, and an enormous fish waits patiently for its next meal. The longer you look, the more humorous details you discover. Undersea Fun It undoubtedly belongs among the most fun and detailed underwater illustrations by Jan van Haasteren. Thanks to the enormous amount of humor, the many recurring elements, the story surrounding Sinterklaas's sunken boat, and the rare appearance of Jane, this is an absolute must-have for every fan and collector of Jan van Haasteren puzzles. |
