I bought this puzzle mat via Bol.com for 22,05 euros in October 2020. The puzzle mat has a size of 152 centimeters (length) x 100 centimeters (height). As an indication of the dimensions of standard puzzles:
- A 500 piece puzzle is: 49 centimeters wide and 35 centimeters high
- A 1000 piece puzzle is: 68 centimeters wide and 49 centimeters high
- A 1500 piece puzzle is: 90 centimeters wide and 60 centimeters high
- A 2000 piece puzzle is: 98 centimeters wide and 68 centimeters high
- A 3000 piece puzzle is: 122 centimeters wide and 85 centimeters high

As you can see, a maximum of puzzles of 122 x 85 centimeters fit on this puzzle mat, which is the standard size of a puzzle of 3000 pieces. White lines indicate exactly where you can make the jigsaw puzzle on the puzzle mat, depending on the number of pieces of puzzle you make. I made a puzzle of 1000 pieces, namely a HEMA photo puzzle that I made of myself.
What's in the box of the JUMBO puzzle mat for 1000 - 1500 - 2000 and 3000 pieces?
I've explained everything out of the box so you can see exactly what you're buying. You see the puzzle mat that you get, I explained it, it has the size of 152 centimeters wide and 100 centimeters high. You also see with the white lines where you can put the puzzle you make inside. Striking: JUMBO communicates everywhere that it is also a puzzle mat for 1000 pieces (and it is!), but for the puzzle 1000 pieces the white lines are not indicated on the puzzle mat, while this is indicated on the image on the box. Of course, this puzzle mat is large enough for a puzzle of 1000 pieces. You have to think of the white line in which you place your puzzle of 1000 pieces. So the box contains:
- 3 cardboard tubes. You can easily slide these 3 parts together. At two ends of the cardboard tube there are white plastic caps that you can remove if necessary. Basically you don't use it unless you keep your puzzle pieces in the cardboard tube instead of the puzzle box.
- 3 elastic bands, which you use when you roll up the puzzle. You put these elastic bands around the puzzle mat and the tube. The puzzle mat is then nicely rolled up around the cardboard tube.
- The Puzzle Mat itself. The puzzle mat has a size of 152 centimeters (length) x 100 centimeters (height)

What I have described above can also be seen in a video, the unpacking video of the JUMBO puzzle mat for 1000, 1500, 2000 and 3000 pieces. I ordered it via Bol.com, you can't order it on the JUMBO website itself.

I then have a Have a photo puzzle of the HEMA made of 1000 pieces of myself. And I started to put this puzzle on this JUMBO puzzle mat of 1000-3000 pieces. If I have explained all the pieces, at least they all fit on the puzzle mat, which I think is very nice. In principle I can roll up the entire puzzle mat and then I don't have to put the puzzle pieces next to the mat separately in a box and then turn them all over again (which was the case with the JUMBO puzzle mat for 500-1500 pieces). I really like this!
I also notice that the puzzle mat comes out of the box a bit bumpy, because it was not rolled up, but folded. That gives some bumps. That was with my last smaller JUMBO puzzle mat 500-1500 pieces also as so. I showed there that you can possibly solve this by ironing the puzzle mat (whether or not with a tea towel in between), this already gives a much better result – the puzzle mat is then much flatter. But everyone has to judge for themselves how bad he/she thinks this is. As far as I'm concerned, it could have been a bit flatter, sometimes there were quite big bumps.

Quality of the puzzle mat
I have already started laying a HEMA Photo Puzzle on this puzzle mat. Where at first I was neutral about the bumps on the puzzle mat, I am now disappointed when I have started. Partly because the puzzle pieces of the HEMA photo puzzle are very thin and easy to release. Then the bumps become more difficult to puzzle. You wish these bumps weren't there. But that's because the JUMBO puzzle mat is folded in the box. You can possibly solve this yourself in advance by ironing the puzzle mat with a tea towel in between (see my Youtube video about this – or this page with another one JUMBO puzzle mat).

However, the quality of the puzzle mat itself is fine, when I look at the material. Nothing wrong with that, very nice puzzle. Puzzle pieces can still be moved, and the material is made of a kind of felt. The disadvantage of every puzzle mat is if you have pets (females or cats), they like to lie on it and that hair can get on it. But you can easily remove it with a slightly wet cloth.
JUMBO Puzzle mat 1000 pieces - how to use the elastic bands?
This puzzle mat comes with 3 elastic bands, with which you can nicely 'fix' the puzzle around the cardboard tube. However, I did not fully understand how to use these elastic bands. I heard that from my son. I tried to 'pull' the elastic bands around it. However: you can just loosen the elastic bands and then attach them very easily. Well, look how easy it is in principle, I didn't know this 🙁
JUMBO Puzzle mat 1000 pieces - Part 3 - Roll up puzzle mat
In the video below I'm going to roll up a puzzle in the JUMBO puzzle mat. Is that easy? My tip is anyway: DO NOT put the puzzle pieces on the edge of the puzzle mat, otherwise they will fall out when you roll it up (see also in my video). Rolling up is quite easy. After rolling up, attach the elastic bands to the puzzle mat that is around the cardboard tube. And voila! You can store your puzzle including puzzle mat elsewhere in your house. Watch in the video below how I unroll the HEMA photo puzzle of 1000 pieces from the JUMBO puzzle mat. But then you unroll the puzzle mat, and as you can see, you only have to put a few pieces back in place. You can start puzzling again pretty soon! If you like the puzzle mats I think this is perfect, all puzzle pieces fit on it! Excellent value for money.

I wrote the above review. I have to say that this is a nice puzzle mat. Easy material, pieces can still be moved over the puzzle mat. Where I was still a bit bothered by the bumps in the beginning of the puzzle, this gradually became less of a problem. I thought it was a great advantage that ALL the pieces of my 1000-piece puzzle also fit on the puzzle mat. First due to the bumps doubt between a 4 or 5 stars, but still given the 5 stars
