DescriptionThis series of puzzles is not very rare, you see them pass by every now and then. However, because of the special series it is still a collector's item and you pay more for these puzzles than for a normal Wasgij puzzle. This puzzle is part of a special edition of the Wasgij Imagine? puzzles, inspired by the British general election. This series contains scenarios in which different political parties (the Liberal Democrats, Labour and the Conservatives) win. The aim is to show the humorous and imaginative celebration of each party. The reason there are three variants is to represent the three main political parties in the United Kingdom. This series of puzzles can be recognized by the colors of the three boxes and their corresponding sequential numbering. This puzzle is the 'Red' box and has the number 19107. The other puzzle from this series has the number 19106 and has a Yellow box. And finally there is the box with number 19108 and that is a Blue box. The issue was made in 2010. The 2010 election resulted in a hung parliament, meaning that no party had an absolute majority. This led to the formation of a coalition government. This was the first time this had happened in the UK since 1974. The Conservatives did win the most seats, but not enough to govern alone. The election marked the end of 13 years of Labour government under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. On the back of the box you will find two Hints. Hint 1 is this one: "If Labour wins the General Election! The General Election is fast approaching and all parties are campaigning to get your support, but imagine if the votes were counted and Labour won triumphantly, how would they celebrate?". Clue 2 is this: "Imagine you are with the Labour Party after their big victory. What would the scene look like? Where will they meet and who will be there? This is the scene you have to puzzle" On both the front and the back of the puzzle you will most likely see a drawing of 'Gordon Brown'. At the time of the 2010 election, Gordon Brown was the leader of the Labour Party in the United Kingdom. He was also the sitting Prime Minister at the time of the general election that year. Brown had taken over the leadership of the Labour Party in 2007, following the resignation of Tony Blair. Following the 2010 election, which saw Labour lose a significant number of seats and create a hung parliament, Gordon Brown stepped down as leader of the party. He was succeeded by Ed Miliband, who was elected party leader later that year.
