It was officially registered in 1928 and named after the founder Michael Marks. The brand originally started with lingerie and homewear such as aprons. Over the years, St Michael grew to become the main brand with which almost all Marks & Spencer products were sold. The brand was especially popular in the 2000s for its high-quality and affordable fashion. In 2021, Marks & Spencer decided to discontinue the St Michael brand as part of a strategic rebranding.
