Special Wasgij puzzle in a tin

Welcome to a new video. In this video, I will show you a very special and rare puzzle from Wasgij. This is the puzzle Royal Knees Up – Queen's Jubilee Celebration. It is a set of two puzzles, each consisting of 1000 pieces. The packaging also clearly states that it is a Limited Edition. In this video, I will tell you more about this puzzle, which was released in 2012. The special thing about it is that it is a set with two 1000-piece puzzles. Here you can see the image of the puzzle lid. That is the first image. The other puzzle shows the situation as it will be later. This makes this a puzzle from the Wasgij Destiny series. This release also marks the 15th anniversary of Wasgij. Wasgij puzzles actually started in 1997. So when this puzzle was released in 2012, Wasgij puzzles had been around for exactly 15 years. But there is even more to tell about this puzzle. The title Royal Knees Up is also linked to the fact that Queen Elizabeth II sat on the throne in England for sixty years. In England, a “Royal Knees Up” essentially means an exuberant party, a grand royal celebration. That makes this puzzle extra special.

Limited Edition and diamond promotion

We see something else striking on the packaging here. It features a promotion: you could win over £45.000 worth of diamonds. The sticker states that you had to look inside the packaging for more information. And it is not an ordinary box, but a tin. You can also immediately tell that it is made of a different material. At the time, the tin contained a form with a competition. The first prize was a large diamond. In addition, there were five second prizes, where the winners received a smaller diamond. So, in total, there were six winners, with a combined value of £45.000. The promotion ran until January 31, 2013. That means the promotional period ran in 2012 and 2013. Not every tin of this puzzle has this sticker. Therefore, this version with the sticker is one of the earlier releases from that promotional period. And because of that, this version is also rarer. There are, in fact, tins of this puzzle that do not have the promotional sticker. This makes this one of the first copies released during that promotional period. If we take a look at the sides, we see, among other things, the dimensions of the puzzle: 68 by 49 centimeters. On the back of the tin, you can also find some extra information. For example, there is a hint about what the situation will be like later, which is typical for a Wasgij Destiny puzzle. So you get clues, but ultimately, of course, you have to start puzzling yourself to discover what happens. It remains, of course, extra fun that this puzzle comes in a tin. This makes it a truly special and rare Wasgij puzzle, and therefore a real collector's item for puzzle enthusiasts.
